Judy & family,
Brian and I were shocked to see that big huge smiling Neil had passed on. We will never pass by on Maplewood st without remembering your life there, seeing Neil on his motorcycle, soccer, etc.
you always knew that if you ever got in a pickle, Neil’s large frame would be the first you would want to see.
He will sorely be missed by all who knew him. I think, what is Judy without her Neil ? You will go on, you just all have to live differently…
Our hearts are broken for you all… he will be close by. Watch for those little signs.
Sending much love & deep sympathy.

Dear Judy, Chad, Derrith, Jason and families,
Gail and I were saddened to learn about Neil's passing. For the many years that Neil was Papa Bear, there is no doubt that Family was the central focus of everything that moved him. You were all the beneficiaries of that love and consequentially your loss is all the greater for his compassion. We hope you find strength and assurance from the legacy of, as you note, his superpowers. On a personal note, I am truly glad that I had the opportunity at last summer's Boonedoggle to spend several hours over a few days sitting with Neil in the Chelton TV room watching the Summer Olympics. Our conversations, punctuated by Neil's colour commentary on the various competitions and athletes, has been fondly memorable for me, but now more than ever.
Please accept our heartfelt sympathy.
Bill & Gail Gould

I'm so sorry to hear of Neil's passing.
One of my favourite memories of him was many years ago... one cold February night, Chad and I decided (as only 15 year old boys are apt to do) that we would do some winter camping. So, there we were at 11:30 at night, working away when a set of headlights came down the street. "Uh oh," said Chad. "I think that's my dad".
Neil backed into the driveway, the headlights fully illuminating the two us us with shovels. We were digging out a patch on the front lawn in the two feet of snow so we could pitch our tent. He walked over to us, and asked "what are you two idiots doing?"
"Clearing a spot for the tent! We're going to camp out tonight!"
Neil paused. I can imagine he was counting to ten in his mind before answering. He didn't yell, he simply spoke with authority. "No," he said. "You're not. Get inside. Now." And, without protest, that was that. In we went.
I'm not sure why that memory has stuck, but I always smile when I think of him that night. Rest in peace and God bless.

We have so many memories from his policing days when I was nursing at VG Emergency. One of our favourite things to do when we got together was remind each other of our escapades, and then embellish the stories even more and tell them to our spouses/ friends. We laughed A LOT! I’m so glad we were able to meet every summer for the last several years, a mini reunion as we were high school friends. It has been the high point of our summer for many years, and we plan on toasting the memories in summer 2025. Rest in peace my friend. Sue and David

Judy and Family, our condolences on the passing of Neil. I had known Neil for my 31 year career at HPD and served with him in Traffic Division and was proud to have him as a Partner for 2 years on the Paddy Wagon. He was a kind gentle giant and was considerate to the Public in which he served. He loved to tease me to no end on and off the job. He loved his Family and will be missed, Rest in Peace my Friend. ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
