I am very saddened to hear of Stuart's passing. I met Stuart as we served together on the Board of AWCBC. During his tenure we met twice a year at AWCBC meetings and corresponded occasionally. Stuart always greeted me with a huge smile and a warm and vigorous handshake. We always had great conversations, about anything and everything. There was never a lack of something to talk about. In the truest sense of the word, he was a "great gentleman"! I will miss our friendship. My deepest condolences to Stuart's family.

Linda and sons and Joan - we are saddened to hear for Stuart's passing. The Community will miss him. He was a man of passion about agriculture and respected for his views. I remember travelling to 4-H Conferences in ON with him 55 years ago, and he even had definite opinions then! Take care of each other at this time....

Linda, Adam and Ian deepest sympathies to you on the loss of your husband and father. Stuart(Stewie) was always a wealth of knowledge when it came to agriculture and was never shy to share his knowledge, his contribution to the agriculture community including the communtiy of Bedeque will never be forgotten. I always felt welcome around you both Linda and I was particulary impressed how he could keep his composure with every stunt or the latest mischief that Adam and us locals.. would find ourselves in in our younger years.. all great memories. Missed but never forgotten.

Ian and Linda,
I am so sorry for your loss. I can only imagine what you are feeling. I loved hanging out with Stuart. Such a smart man with a big heart. And so many great stories to share. And thoughtful perspective on so many issues in agriculture. I've enjoyed being a friend to your family for the last 20 years. I will remember our last visit together. I was so proud to show Stuart the abandoned farm we bought and talk about all of our big plans for the future.
Ian, your dad will live on inside of you. You have some many of his wonderful traits. I know how he meant the world to you. He was so proud of you and the pride you have brought to the Affleck name throughout your career in agriculture.
How I wish I could reach through this screen and hug you both.

Hi, my deepest sympathy to Stuart's family. I have memories of planting potatoes on the family farm, then digging them in the Fall. I can remember his mother's great meals that were served to the workers. I remember playing hockey with Stuart at the Bedeque rink and talking to him at Tim's where he liked to talk/drink coffee.

Nothing I can say will take away the pain you’re experiencing. Just want you to know that I care about you, and I share in your sadness. Stuart (Stewie) was someone who I actually looked up to for advice when I was just a young teenager trying to find my way. Driving the roads with Adam through the streets of Summerside and filling up Joe's Bonneville or Nancy's Topaz on the farmland in Bedeque late at night was always appreciated. Thanks Stewie! My deepest sympathy to you Linda, Adam, Ian and other family members.
Love,
Marc Lawless

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
