Obituary of Judy Moore
Judith Claire Moore (nee Morton) passed away in her home at Andrews of Summerside, Wednesday, 20 December 2023 at the age of 84, in the presence of her loving family. Born in Yarmouth, NS, Judy now joins her husband of 64 years Ross and their daughter Tammy. She is survived by her sister Sharon (Stew), her son Craig (Suzanne) her Granddaughter Chelsea (Paddy), her Grandson Justin (Allison), her Granddaughter Alexandra (Shane), and Great-Grandchildren Garreth, Tiernan and Tamlyn.
Judy married Ross in Yarmouth in 1958 and they moved throughout Canada during his 35 years of service in the Canadian Armed Forces, finally settling to their retirement on the Island where they enjoyed their home and cottage. Judy was a loving sister, Mother and Nana who took great efforts to put her family first. She will be remembered as a fantastic cook, a talented crafter, and a devoted friend to many. Her volunteer work with the Catholic Women’s League and many other charities was a testament to her compassion. Her memory will survive through those she touched and the many great stories she shared.
Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd Summerside until Friday December 29, 2023 then to St. Paul’s Catholic Church for a funeral mass at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name to the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
