Obituary of Donald Kenneth Chapman

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Donald Kenneth Chapman (1937-2023) of Summerside. Don spent many years as a community volunteer. He was a member of the Summerside Kinsmen Club and K-40 where he was involved in the organizing committees of the Lobster Carnival and parade, Summerside Winter Carnival, Christmas Tree Appeal, Kinsmen Bus and Racetrack Canteen at SRW. He served as a member of the Summerside Fire Department and was the Deputy Fire Chief for many years.  He was also an organizer and coach of minor football in the 1970s.

 

Don grew up in Cape Cod, Massachusetts and was the son of the late Norman and Ann (Standish) Chapman. Devoted and adoring husband of Myrna (Tuplin). Loving father of Pam (Jim Laird), Scott (Rebecca), Jamie (Beverly), and David (Cathy Connors-Gallant). Adoring grandfather of Sarah Laird (Chantal Vien), Kenny Laird (Megan), Andrew (Stephanie) Chapman, Breagh (William Gallant), Josh Chapman, and Zoey Chapman. Brother-in-law of Frances Williams (Jack – deceased). Great-grandfather of Tristan Hall, Lucy Chapman, and Brooke Laird.

Predeceased by his sisters Barbara (Billy Gieselman – deceased) and Virginia (Carl LeClair), sister-in-law Georgie (Alvin Nunn – deceased), and father and mother-in-law George and Jean (Smith) Tuplin. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Peter's Anglican Church Foxley River.  Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home.245 Pope Rd., Summerside PE. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on June 24th at 1:00 pm.
