Obituary of Douglas Ralph Little
The death occurred peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown on Sunday, April 2nd of Douglas Ralph Little of Fountain Lake, Williamsdale, Nova Scotia and formerly of Summerside, Prince Edward Island, aged 79 years. Doug was born in Fort William, Ontario to his late parents Norman and Evelyn (Thompson) Little. Beloved husband of Linda (Arsenault) and loving father of Ann Worth (Rick) and James Little. Lovingly remembered by his beautiful grandchildren Carter, Katie, Brianna and Braydin, many nieces and nephews, brother and sister-in-laws and a significant number of dear friends near and far. He was predeceased by his older brother Jim.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home and Chapel, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Thursday, April 6th where there will be a Celebration of Doug's Life will be held in the Chapel from 4:00 p.m -5:00 p.m. Visitating hours held Thursday April 6th from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Following the service, we invite you all to join us for fellowship and refreshments at the Oval, Red Shores Summerside Raceway 55 Greenwood Drive, Summerside. Interment to take place at a later date in Nova Scotia. In Dad’s memory, we invite you to honor nature conservation by planting a tree this year or making a monetary charitable contribution to the Nature Conservancy of Canada.
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
