Obituary of Arsenault, Augustus "Gus"
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Tuesday, June 24th, 2014 of Augustus "Gus" Alfred Arsenault of Summerside, P.E.I., aged 93 years. Veteran of World War II, Mont Royal Fusiliers. Gus was born on October 20th, 1920 in Summerside, P.E.I. to his late parents Daniel and Angelina (nee Thibideau) Arsenault.
Beloved husband of the late Mary (nee Caissie) Arsenault and loving father of the late Patricia Arsenault (2003), Donna Marie (Nick) Kelly of Middle Cove, NFLD., Clyde of Long Creek, Barbara, Gloria and Simon all of Summerside and special daughter in-law Alana of Newton. Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren John Paul, Thomas, Nicholas Kelly, Angie (Nav) Dhillon, Brandon Arsenault, his precious great-grandchildren Annika, Kian and Isla Dhillon and his many nieces, nephews, and friends. He is survived by his brother Russell of Ontario.
Besides his parents, wife and daughter, Gus was predeceased by his brother Ernie, sisters Matilda MacDonald, Cecilia Chambers, Rita Whalen and Marie Leake.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Friday June 27th, then to St. Paul's church for a funeral mass at 11:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Gus's memory to the Summerside Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 5 or St. Paul's Cemetery Fund would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Thursday 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m.
Members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 5, Summerside will hold a
Service of Remembrance at the funeral home on Thursday evening at 6:30p.m.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
