Obituary of Currie, Wesley James
The death occurred peacefully at the Wedgewood Manor, Summerside, P.E.I. on Monday, June 30th, 2014 of James Wesley Currie of Summerside, P.E.I., aged 99 years. Wesley was born on February 18th, 1915 in Glenwood, Lot 8, P.E.I. to his late parents John and Hilda (nee Betts) Currie. Veteran of World War II.
Beloved husband of the late Olive (nee Gorrill) Currie and loving father of Hazel (Audrey) Morris of Delta, B.C., Lila Jean (Paul) Offer of Tyne Valley, David (Sandra) of Hartsville and Eric (Kim) of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by his 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and his many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and wife, Wesley was predeceased by his brothers Reggie and Denzil, his sisters Violet, Hazel, Helen and Verna.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Friday July 4th, then to Trinity United Church, Summerside for a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Interment to take place in People's Cemetery, Summerside. Memorial donations in Wesley's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Thursday evening only 6 - 9 p.m.
Members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 5, Summerside will hold a Service of Remembrance at the funeral home on Thursday evening at 5:30p.m.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
