Obituary of O'Brien, Robert "Wayne"
The death occurred at his late residence in Summeride, P.E.I. on Monday, July 7th , 2014 of Robert Wayne O'Brien of Summerside and formerly of Alberton, P.E.I., aged 64 years. Wayne was born on November 21st, 1949 in Alberton, P.E.I. to his late parents Robert and Gertrude (nee McKenna) O'Brien.
Loving remembered by his children Roberta O'Brien (Terry) of Borden-Carleton and Dale (Ashley) of Alberta and their mother Elizabeth O'Brien DesRoches of Summerside. Also remembered by his grandchildren Mitchell, Jennifer, Amanda, Stephanie, Robert and Bailey, his great-grandchildren Nevaeh, Olivia, Jackson, Lincoln and Madalynn and many nieces and nephews. Survived by his brothers Allan and Dale of Summerside, Floyd of Wellington, Larry of AB., Robert of Montague and his sisters Betty O'Brien Campbell and Colleen O'Brien of B.C. and Roberta Boucher of N.B. .
Besides his parents, Wayne was predeceased by his son Stephen, his great grandson Carter Perry and his brother Paul.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Friday, July 11th for a funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m.. Interment to take place in St. Paul's Cemetery, Summerside. Memorial donations in Wayne's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or the IWK Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Thursday evening only , 6 - 9 p.m..

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
