Obituary of Halliday, Hazel May
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Sunday, September 21st , 2014 of Hazel May Halliday (nee Pringle) of Summerside, P.E.I. and formerly of British Columbia, aged 84 years. Hazel was born in Port Colborne, Ontario to her late parents John and Estella (nee Leslie) Pringle.
Beloved wife of the late Norman Halliday. Special aunt to nephews Evan Grabell (Brenda) and Tim Morgan (Evelyn) of Port Colborne, ON.. She is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and her husband, Hazel was predeceased by her brothers Reginald, Douglas and Donald and her sisters Geraldine, Marguerite and Jean.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Saturday, September 27th for a Memorial Service in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment to take place in the Oakwood Cemetery, Port Colborne, ON. at a later date. Memorial donations in Hazel's memory to the College of Piping and Performing Arts, Summerside would be greatly appreciated. By personal request there will be no visiting hours held.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
