Obituary of Gallant, Emelda Mary
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at her late residence on Monday, October 13th, 2014 of Emelda Mary Gallant (nee Arsenault) of Summerside and formerly of St. Chrysostome, P.E.I., aged 87 years. Emelda was born in Egmont Bay, P.E.I. to her late parents Agape and Veronique (nee Gallant) Arsenault.
Beloved wife of the late Melvin Gallant and loving mother of Tina Richard (Oscar), Cecile Hajek (Robert), Andy (Angela), Dale Noonan (Eldon), Judy Griffin, Paul, Vicky Lepitre, Dennis, Shane and Blair (Marsha). Also lovingly remembered by her 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. Survived by her brother Albert Arsenault of Montreal, Q.C. and her sister Bernadette Burns (Terry) of Courtenay, B.C..
Besides her parents and husband, Emelda was predeceased by the following brothers and sisters: Frank, Pete, Leo, Martin, Henry, Camille, Yvonne, Helen, Hermine and Bertha.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Friday, October 17th , then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for a funeral mass at 2:00 p.m.. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Emelda's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Thursday evening only, 6 - 9 p.m..

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
