Obituary of Gallant, Catherine Michele
The death occurred suddenly surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Sunday, January 18th, 2015 of Michele Gallant of Miscouche and formerly of Summerside, P.E.I., aged 44 years. Michele was born in Summerside to her parents, Jean Grigg and the late David Gallant.
Beloved wife of Peter Gallant and loving mother of Riley. Survived by the following brothers and sisters: Michael Gallant of Bedeque, Martin Gallant (Bonnie) of St. Nicholas, Mark Gallant (Brenda) of Linkletter Rd., and Melanie Waite of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by her father-in-law John Gallant of Miscouche, her brothers and sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her father David, Michele was predeceased by her brother William Gallant in infancy, her grandparents William and Catherine Gallant and Graydon and Greta Grigg and her mother-in-law Yvonne Gallant.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Thursday, January 22nd, where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment to take place in the Tyne Valley United Church Cemetery. Memorial donations in Michele's memory to an Educational Trust for her son Riley would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Wednesday, 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m..

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
