Obituary of Thibideau, John Joseph
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by his loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Sunday, April 19th, 2015 of John Joseph Thibideau of Miscouche, P.E.I., aged 76 years. John was born in Summerside to his late parents Joseph and Angelina (nee DesRoches) Thibideau.
Beloved husband of Geralda (nee Blacquiere) Thibideau and loving father of Joanne Dennis and Troy ( Karla MacAusland). Also lovingly remembered by his 4 grandchildren Ashley (William), Cody (Christine), Kaitlyn (Shawn) and Tylan, 3 great grandchildren Tianna, Taylah and Lucca and several nieces and nephews. Survived by his brothers Richard (Joan), Sonny (Brita) and sister Janice (Allan) Parks, sister-in-law Marina Arsenault and brother-in-law Lewis Blacquiere.
Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his brother Joseph (in infancy).
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Wednesday, April 22nd, 2015 then to St. John the Baptist Church, Miscouche for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in church cemetery at a later date. Donations in John's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. John the Baptist Church would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Tuesday evening only from 6 - 9 p.m.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
