Obituary of MacLellan, Father Thomas
The death occurred peacefully at the Summerset Manor, Summerside, P.E.I. on Wednesday, August 26th, 2015 of Father Thomas MacLellan of Summerside and formerly of Charlottetown, aged 89 years. Father Thomas was born in Grand River, P.E.I. to his late parents Marshall and Florence (nee Kilbride) MacLellan.
Lovingly remembered by his sisters Margaret and Sister Louise MacLellan as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Father Thomas was predeceased by his brothers Joe, Elmer, Angus and sisters Alfreda MacLellan and Lillian Murphy.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Monday, August 31st, then to St.Patrick's Church, Grand River for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Father Tom's memory to the St. Patrick's Cemetery Fund would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Sunday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
