Obituary of Gallant, Frederick "Oliver"
The death occurred peacefully at the Maplewood Manor, Alberton, P.E.I. on Thursday, December 31st, 2015 of Frederick Oliver Gallant of Alberton and formerly of Summerside, aged 88 years. Oliver was born in Summerside to his late parents Fred and Alvina Gallant.
Beloved husband of Mae Gallant and his first wife the late Edna (nee Arsenault) Gallant. Loving father of Alan (Donna), Comox, BC., Esther (Larry) LaPorte, Charlottetown, Fred (Janice), Charlottetown, Caroline (Kevin) Peters, Summerside, Darlene (Gerard) Dugay, Halifax, NS., Patricia (Dan) Beaudette, Quebec, Andy Gallant, Summerside and several step-children. Also lovingly remembered by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Survived by his sister Mary Ratelle, Summerside.
Besides his parents and first wife, Oliver was predeceased by his brother Edmond Gallant, sister Marguerite Gaudet and granddaughter Andrea Young.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Wednesday January 6th, then to St. Paul's Church for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations in Oliver's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Tuesday evening only from 6 - 9 p.m.
Members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 18, MIscouche will hold a Service of Remembrance at the funeral home on Tuesday evening at 5:45 p.m.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
