Obituary of McLellan, Charles Edward
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Tuesday, February 23rd , 2016 of Charles Edward McLellan of Summerside, aged 80 years. Charlie was born in Bedeque, P.E.I. to his late parents Edward and Edith (nee Sharkey) McLellan.
Remembered by his children Sandra (Jim) , Kenny, Beryl (Tom) and Cathy all of Ontario. Also remembered by several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Survived by his brothers Austin (Melvina) of Summerside and Leonard (Hazel) of Cape Traverse and sisters-in-law Opal McLellan of Fergus, ON. and Judy McLellan of Carleton Place, ON.
Besides his parents, Charlie was predeceased by his wife Lillian (nee Heckbert) McLellan, his sister Mary (Clifford) Rogers, his brothers Wesley and Stuart and his sister-in-law Gloria McLellan.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Thursday, February 25th, for a funeral in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 p.m.. Interment to take place in St. Peter's Church Cemetery, Seven Mile Bay at a later date. Memorial donations in Charlie's memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or to St. Peter's Church Cemetery Fund would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Thursday, from 12:00 p.m. until time of funeral at 1:00 p.m.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
