Obituary of Oakley, Reginald James "Jim"
The death occurred suddenly at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Tuesday July 5th, 2022 of Reginald James "Jim" Oakley of Summerside, aged 78 years. Jim was born in Buchans, Nlfd. to the late Arthur and Alice (Carter) Oakley.
Beloved husband of Barbara (LeMoine) Oakley and loving father of Debbie Oakley (Jeremy Doucette), grandson Ryan, Derek Oakley (Christine Clements) grandchildren Hunter and Sophie and their mother Anne Douglas.
Survived by his brothers Donald (Greta), London ON. and Arthur (Pearl) Truro, NS.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Friday July 8th where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment to take place in Cape Breton at a later date. Memorial donations in Jim's memory to the Alzheimer's Society of PEI would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
