Obituary of McCarville, Jennie Irene
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Wednesday May 4th, 2016 of Jennie Irene McCarville (nee MacEachern) of Summerside, aged 91 years. Jennie was born in Charlottetown, P.E.I. to her late parents Daniel and Jennie (nee Cummiskey) MacEachern.
Beloved wife of the late Allan "Bud" McCarville and loving mother of Allan (Marlene) of Ottawa, ON., Mary Letourneau of Summerside and Linda (Peter) Coxworthy of Halifax, N.S.. Also lovingly remembered by her 4 grandchildren Krista (Letourneau) Boyce, Andra (Letourneau) Peters, Mary Ella McCarville and Adam Coxworthy, her 1 great-granddaughter Isabella Boyce and several nieces and nephews.
Survived by her sister Mary Larter and her brother Daniel (Betty) MacEachern all of Charlottetown.
Besides her parents and husband, Jennie was predeceased by her sister Bella (Gerald) Murphy, her son-in-law Peter Letourneau and her brother-in-law Daniel Larter.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Monday, May 9th, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Jenny's memory to the P.E.I. Kidney Foundation or to St. Paul's Cemetery Fund would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Saturday, May 7th, from 6 - 8 p.m. only.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
