Obituary of MacDonald, Chester Allison
The death occurred peacefully after a lengthy illness at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Sunday May 15th, 2016 of Chester Allison MacDonald of Shamrock, P.E.I., aged 71 years. Chester was born in Charlottetown, P.E.I. to his late parents William and Stella MacDonald.
Survived by his brothers Donald and Angus of Summerside and Arthur (Darlene) and David (Rose) all of Shamrock. Besides his parents, Chester was predeceased by his brother Winston.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Friday, May 20th where a Memorial Service will take place in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment to take place in the Springton Cemetery, P.E.I. Memorial donations in Chester's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. No visiting hours by personal request.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
