Obituary of Potts, Derrick
The death occurred peacefully with his family by his side at Summerset Manor, Summerside, P.E.I. on July 11th, 2016 of Derrick Potts of Summerside and formerly of Fort McMurray, AB and Montreal, PQ, aged 89 years. Derrick was born in Rochdale, England to his late parents Reynold and Margaret (nee Potts) Kershaw.
Beloved husband of Heather Potts and loving father of Lynda (Roger) MacQueen, Fernwood, P.E.I., Helen (Brian) Nolan, Ingleside, ON, Kenneth, Vegreville, AB, Trevor of Summerside and daughter-in-law Lisa Potts of New Glasgow, NS. Also lovingly remembered by his eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Derrick was predeceased by his brother Bill Kershaw, sister Beryl Howarth, his son Rodney, granddaughter Angela MacQueen and great granddaughter Rachel Potts, both in infancy.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Friday, July 15th, for a funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 4:00 p.m. Visiting hours from 2:00 p.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Derrick's memory may be made to P.E.I. Humane Society.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
