Obituary of Taylor, Joseph Donne

The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by family, at the Prince County Hospital on Monday, December 20, 2021, of Joseph Donne (Don) Taylor, aged 84, of Summerside, formerly of Charlottetown. Loving husband of Eileen (Crozier) Heffel Taylor. Cherished father of JoAnn Taylor Russell (Rick), Quispamsis, NB; Donna Taylor Chandler (Jamie), Mount Hebert; Bob Taylor (Tanja) Coronado CA; stepfather of Alan McCabe, Charlottetown; Beth Marquis (Gary Davis), Doylestown PA; Trevor Heffel(Shannon), Summerside, Krista Stuart (Stephen) North Bedeque. Proud grandfather of Kathryn Russell MacLean (John), Rothesay NB; Andrew Taylor Russell (Jody), Baxters Corner NB; Justine Chandler, Stratford; Davis Chandler, Charlottetown; Emmery Chandler, Mount Hebert; Zachary, Rachel and Nicole Taylor, Sydney, NS (father - in-law of their mother, Lauri Ravanello); Stephanie and Felicia Stuart, North Bedeque; Tamara and Leah Heffel, Summerside. Great-grampie of Gloria and Hayden Chandler, Stratford; Taylor Russell, Baxters Corner NB. Dear brother of Daphne MacLean (Rev. Allison), Fredericton NB; Sylvia Matheson (Donald), Oyster Bed Bridge; Sandra Richardson (Mark), Charlottetown; brother-in-law of Velma Taylor, Charlottetown; Doreen MacLean, Lyman Huestis, Mary Lou Crozier; Anita Hennessey Ayers, Eileen Keefe, Rosemarie Miller; and uncle of many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wives, Isabel Middleton and Gloria (Miller) McCabe Taylor; his parents, Joseph and Rosella Taylor, his brother, Ian Taylor, his stepsons, Barry and Donnie McCabe, his brothers and sisters-in-law, Andy MacLean, Joyce Best (Ray), Norma Huestis, Alan Crozier; Ralph, Gerald and Basil Miller, June McCarville (Leo), Shirley McKay (Claude), Lorne Hennessey, Norma Gillis (Bill) and Fred Keefe. Don spent his working life in the car industry before retiring. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed curling, cards, and numerous summers spent at cottages with family and friends. Don survived a seven year battle with lung cancer. He fought it and did not let it beat him in the end. He dearly loved his family and will be deeply missed by all. Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, Summerside. Due to Covid 19 restrictions a private funeral, by invitation only, will be held at Bedeque Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Interment at Charlottetown Catholic Cemetery.
