Obituary of DesRoches, Raymond
The death occurred peacefully in Summerside, P.E.I. on July 14th, 2016 of Raymond Joseph George DesRoches of Toronto, ON and formerly of Summerside, aged 56 years. Raymond was born to his late parents Elmer and Dorothy (nee Gallant) DesRoches.
Beloved husband of Angelica "Angie" (nee Goicoechea) DesRoches. Survived by brothers and sisters Patricia (Rayburn) Arsenault, Joyce (Eldon) Arsenault, Helen (Junior) Albert, Stella (Bradford), Johnny, Carolyn (Edward) Fortuna, Lornie (Gail), Marlene (Ensor) Loo, Shelley (Jimmy) Bryan, Roger (Mary), Ferdie (Wei), Rocky (Sherry) Gallant; step-sisters and step-brothers Mike, Paula, Donna, Giselle, Darcy; his aunt Dolly DesRoches and uncle Sylvere Gallant; mother-in-law Coty "Mama" Goicoechea, brothers and sisters-in-law, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Monday, July 18th, from where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment to take place in St. Paul's Cemetery, Summerside. Visiting hours on Sunday from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Memorial donations in Raymond's memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
