Obituary of MacDougall, Francis Bennett
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by his loving family at the Clinton View Lodge, Clinton, P.E.I. on Saturday, October 22nd , 2016 of Francis Bennett MacDougall, formerly of St. Eleanors, P.E.I., aged 84 years. Francis was born in Summerside to his late parents Neil and Cecila McDougall.
Loving father of Francie (David) Docherty of St. Annes, P.E.I. and Cory (Jeanne) MacDougall of Long Creek, P.E.I.. Also lovingly remembered by his 3 grandchildren, Bailey, Jessanyn, and Cohen and many nieces and nephews. Survived by his brothers Irwin (Merna) of Mass., U.S.A., Don (Debbie) of Summerside, Ron (Sheila) of Cornwall, and his sisters-in-law Dolly MacDougall of Oakville, ON. and Pat MacDougall of Scarborough, ON.
Besides his parents, Francis was predeceased by his brothers Albin (Mary), Jack and Lawrence (Audrey); his sisters Kathleen (Bill) Tuskey, Patrica (Al) Black and Hilda (Billy) Cameron.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Monday, October 24th, where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 3:00 p.m.. Interment to take place in St. Paul's Cemetery, Summerside. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Francis's memory to the Chapman Center at the Summerset Manor or to Meals on Wheels would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours will be held on Monday afternoon, from 1:00 p.m. until time of funeral service.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
