Obituary of Loo, Jan "John"
The death occurred peacefully at the Beach Grove Home, Charlottetown, P.E.I., on Saturday December 24th, 2016 of Jan Gerardus "John" Loo, formerly of Appin Road, P.E.I., aged 90 years. John was born in The Netherlands to his late parents Christiaan and Gerritje (nee Beelen) Loo.
Beloved husband of the late Trijntje "Tina"(nee Havenga) Loo and loving father of Kathleen (Blake) Craig, Ronald (Judy Crossman), Edward (Janet), Mary, Nancy (Jon) Reeder, Chris and Glenda Loo. Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren James, Kristen and Sandra Craig, Angela and Jake Loo, Edward and Jason Loo, Alex and Rachael MacDonald & Sarah and Carson Reeder.
Survived by his sister Sien MacEachern and sister-in-law Joyce Loo.
Besides his parents and wife, John was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside where a private funeral service will be held. Interment to take place at a later date in Appin Road Cemetery. If so desired memorial donations can be made to Beach Grove Home, Charlottetown. Following the funeral service, there will be a reception at the Bonshaw Community Centre on Wednesday December 28th at 1:00 p.m. All family and friends are welcome to join John's family for refreshments and a time of fellowship. By family request, there will be no visiting hours held.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
