Obituary of DesRoches, Rose Mae
The death occurred peacefully at Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Wednesday, March 1st, 2017 of Rose Mae DesRoches (nee Blacquiere) of Wedgewood Manor, aged 81 years. Rose was born in Summerside to the late Augustine and Delia (nee LeClair) DesRoches.
Beloved wife of the late Allan "Sonny" DesRoches and loving mother of Cindy (Robert )Arsenault and Jason. Also lovingly remembered by her grand daughter Nicole as well as many nieces and nephews.
Survived by her sisters Doreen DesRoches and Celey Geoffroy, both of Niagara Falls, Ont.
Besides her parents, Rose was predeceased by her sister Isabel; brother Francis; sister-in-law Sylvia and brothers-in-law Joe and Irvin.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Saturday, March 4th, 2017, where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 10:00 a.m. Interment to take place in St. Paul's Cemetery, Summerside at a later date. Memorial donations in Rose's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Friday evening from 6 - 8 p.m.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
