Obituary of Bernard, Paul Joseph
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Saturday, April 22nd, 2017 of Paul Joseph Bernard of Summerside and formerly of Miscouche, P.E.I. aged 79 years. Paul was born in Egmont Bay, P.E.I. to his late parents Edmond and Evangeline (nee Aucoin) Bernard.
Beloved husband of Clara (nee Arsenault) Bernard and loving father of Gisele Demers (Peter) of Slemon Park, Normand of Montreal, QC., and Claude (Eliza) of Brampton, ON. Also lovingly remembered by his four grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law. Survived by his brothers and sisters: Irene Arsenault, Alice Richard (Alfred), Melvin (Angele), Florence MacKinnon (Ewen), Raymond (Rita), Julien (Corinne), Therese Arsenault, Patricia Perry, Alcide (Alvina), Marcel (Jeannita), Roger, and Claudette Arsenault (John).
Besides his parents, Paul was predeceased by a daughter Mary in infancy, his nephew Darren Perry, brothers-in-law Tilmon Arsenault, Lionel Arsenault and Earl Perry and sister-in-law Doris Bernard.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Thursday, April 27th, then to St. John the Baptist Church, Miscouche for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Paul's memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation, the Summerset Manor Equipment Fund or St. John the Baptist Church Cemetery Fund would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Wednesday, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
