Obituary of McCormick, Mary Elizabeth "Betty"
The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Monday, July 3rd, 2017 of Mary Elizabeth "Betty" McCormick (nee Mallett) of Summerside, age 94 years. Elizabeth was born in Loretta, P.E.I. to the late Joseph and Mary (nee Perry) Mallett.
Beloved wife of the late Frederick Crawford and loving mother of Myrna (Albert) Gallant, Miscouche, Theresa Guest (Phil Perkins), Oshawa, ON., Robert (deceased) Faye, Summerside, Fred (Barb), Bideford, Tommy (Linda Perry) Ellerslie, Diane (Bob) Tucker, Summerside, Donna (Allan) Gallant, Comox, BC., Holly (Wade) Noye, Ellerslie. Also lovingly remembered by her 27 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Elizabeth was predeceased by her sisters Ada Ning, Gladys Hopps, Venie Carr- Forbes, brother Charles and special friend Joe Blanchard.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Thursday, July 6th then to St. Paul's Church, Smmerside for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Elizabeth's memory to IWK Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Visitation on Wednesday from 5 - 8 p.m.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
