Obituary of Rousseau, Bonita Jean
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Monday, July 31st, 2017 of Bonita Jean Rousseau (nee Burns) of Summerside, aged 80 years. Bonita was born in Summerside to her late mother Esther Burns (nee Wedge).
Beloved wife of the late Merrill Gauthier and her seconded husband, the late Joseph Rousseau Sr. Loving mother of Audrey Boyle (deceased) and Joseph Jr. (Danielle) Rousseau. Also lovingly remembered by her grandson Paul (Vanessa) Boyle and great grandson Marcus. Survived by her brother and sisters Elaine Gallant, Audrey Warsnip, Ronnie (Judy) Burns and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her brothers and sisters Stanley (Marie), Marina (Larry) Germaine, Walter (Theresa), Brenda (Everett) Keough, Joanne (Leo) Keough and brothers in-law Joe Gallant and Jack Warsnip. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Monday, August 7th, 2017 where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in St. Paul's Cemetery, Summerside. Memorial donations in Bonita's memory to the Diabetes Canada would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Friday from 6 - 8 p.m.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
