Obituary of Graham, James "Austin"
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Sunday August 13th, 2017 of J. Austin Graham of Summerside and formerly of Charlottetown in his 100th year. Born in Bayview (Cavendish), P.E.I., the eldest son of the late William Austin and Mary (Moore) Graham.
Beloved husband of Vivian (nee White) Graham and loving father to his 5 daughters Carol Ann (Deryl) Newson, Shirley (Neil) Matheson - MacDonald, Barbara (Paul) Burleigh, Betty (Conrad) Bourque and Donna (Paul Lewchik) Loeb. Also lovingly remembered by his 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Austin is survived by his brother Claude Graham, Ontario, sister Ada Campbell, Charlottetown, sisters in-law Marion Graham, Cavendish, Leeta Whitrow, Surrey, BC, Shirley White, Charlottetown as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother Benson Graham, sister Anna Andrew and brother in-law Millar Campbell.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Wednesday, August 16th, then to Central Street Christian Church, Summerside where visiting hours will be held from 1 - 2:30 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 2:45 p.m. Interment to take place in Floral Hill Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Valley. Memorial donations in Austin's memory may be made to MS Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
