Obituary of Poirier, Gerard Joseph
The death occurred peacefully at the Wedgewood Manor, Summerside P.E.I. on Sunday, September 10th, 2017 of Gerard Joseph Poirier , formerly of Miscouche, P.E.I., aged 92 years. Gerard was born in Miscouche to his late parents Arsene and Bernadette Poirier.
Lovingly remembered by his caregivers and family members Lionel DesRoches (Marie), Armand DesRoches (Judie) and Claudette Cramm (Jim) along with many that called him uncle, great-uncle, great-great uncle and great-great-great uncle.
Gerard was the last surviving member of his family of 13.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Friday, September 15th, then to St. John the Baptist Church, Miscouche for a funeral mass at 3:00 p.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday evening only, 6 - 8 p.m. Donations in Gerard's memory to St. John the Baptist Cemetery Fund would be greatly appreciated.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
