Obituary of Trenholm, Powell Douglas
The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Monday, October 9th, 2017 of Powell Douglas Trenholm of Summerside and formerly of Borden, P.E.I., aged 84 years. Powell was born in Borden to his late parents Palmer and Pearl (nee Allen) Trenholm.
Beloved husband of Simone (nee LeClair) Trenholm and loving father of Heather King of Halifax, N.S., Wendy Trenholm (Jim MacIntyre) of Ottawa, ON. and Karen Cormier (Lorne) of Freetown. Also lovingly remembered by his 7 grandchildren Julie, Cynthia, Melissa, Corrie, Holly, Jessica, and Lori along with several great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Survived by his brothers and sisters: Everett, Borden, Mary Bruce, Carol Ann Patterson, Gary and Phylis Jeffrey.
Besides his parents, Powell was predeceased by 7 brothers and sisters.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Friday, October 13th where a funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Interment to take place in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Valley. Memorial donations in Powell's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Thursday afternoon only, from 2 - 4 p.m.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
