Obituary of Gallant, Alyre Joseph
The death occurred peacefully at Wedgewood Manor, Summerside, P.E.I. on Thursday, October 12th, 2017 of Alyre Joseph Gallant of Summerside and formerly of St. Nicholas, aged 84 years. Alyre was born in Mont-Carmel to the late Alcide and Mary (nee Richard) Gallant. Loving father of Darlene, Anne, Sheila, Sharon, Irene, John (Joyce) and Raymond (Crystal). Special friend to Irene Scott of Moncton.
Survived by his brothers Wilfred, Art (Gloria) and Rene.
Predeceased by his sons Junior Alyre and Joseph Alexander (in infancy) as well as sisters Doris, Yvonne and Alcida.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside. By personal request, there will be no visiting hours or funeral service held. Memorial donations to the Wedgewood Manor Equipment Fund would be greatly appreciated. A special thank-you to the nurses and staff of Wedgewood Manor.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
