Obituary of Arsenault, Leonard J.
The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Sunday, October 15th, 2017 of Leonard J. Arsenault of Summerside, P.E.I. and formerly of Middleton, P.E.I., aged 78 years. Leonard was born in Seven Mile Bay to the late Joseph and Mae (nee Luce) Arsenault.
Beloved husband of Lois (nee Paugh) Arsenault and loving father of Wayne (Deborah) Arsenault and Heather (Paul M. Schurman) Johnston. Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Eric and Kathleen Arsenault, Westley and Laura Johnston.
Survived by his brother Homer Arsenault of Niagara Falls and sister Rita Martin of Summerside.
Predeceased by his sisters Sadie Watson, Doris Arsenault and Edna Warren.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Friday, October 20th, where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 p.m. Interment to take place in St. Paul's Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations in Leonard's memory to the Heart and Stoke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Thursday evening from 6 - 9 p.m.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
