Obituary of Greene, Annie "Eileen"
The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving children at the Provincial Palliative Care Center, Charlottetown, P.E.I. on Tuesday, February 20th, 2018 of Annie "Eileen" (nee Jeffery) Greene of Summerside, aged 82 years. Eileen was born in Loretta, P.E.I. to the late Louis and Annie Jane (nee Cannon) Jeffery.
Beloved wife of the late Ralph Greene and loving mother of Linda (Alan) Duncan, Bonnie (Mike) Hatt, Allan (Susie) Greene, Kaye (Allan) Kelly, Kelley (Preston) Rayner and daughter in-law Christine Greene. Also lovingly remembered by her 15 grandchildren Jason, Fiona, Kali, Heather, Jennifer, Emma, Spencer, Luke, Josh, Molly, Adam, Kristin, Ashley, Peter and Ras and her 4 great grandchildren.
Survived by her sisters Mabel Barnett and Gladys Grant, sister in-law Verna Jeffery and several nieces and nephews. Eileen was predeceased by her son Grant Greene, brothers Wilbert, Gordon, Harold, Sterling and Preston.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Friday, February 23rd, then to Trinity United Church, Summerside for a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment to take place in the People's Cemetery, Summerside at a later date. Memorial donations in Eileen's memory to People's Cemetery or P.E.I. Lung Association would be greatly appreciated. Visitation hours on Thursday evening 4:30 - 7:00 p.m.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
