Obituary of Rushton, Mary "Clara"
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Saturday, June 8th, 2018 of Mary "Clara" Rushton (nee DesRoches) of The Mews in Margate and formerly of Miscouche, P.E.I. aged 94 years. Clara was born in Miscouche, to the late Thomas and Clementine (nee Fougere) DesRoches.
Beloved wife of late Whitney Rushton and loving mother of Percy (Louise), Garnet (Freda), Noreen Stonehouse, Tillie (Allan) MacLeod and Sheila (Dan Murnaghan). Also lovingly remembered by her 9 grandchildren David, Brian, Louie, Mary, Garnie, Al, Serl, Whitney and Jason, 18 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.
Survived by her brother Percy (Margaret) DesRoches, numerous nieces and nephews and special friends Tammy Rogers and Danny Creelman.
Predeceased by her son Louis Rushton and great grand daughter Alannah Rushton, brothers and sisters Lillian Gallant, Daniel, Matilda "Tillie" Perry, George, Urban and Mary Lou and Alfred in infancy.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Tuesday, June 12th, then to St. John the Baptist Church, Miscouche for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Clara's memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or St. John the Baptist Cemetery would be greatly appreciated. Visitation hours on Monday from 5 - 8

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
