Obituary of MacKenzie, Freda Marion
The death occurred unexpectedly with family by her side at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Sunday, June 17th, 2018 of Freda Marion (nee Mayhew) MacKenzie of Summerside and formerly of Sept-Iles, Quebec, aged 83 years. Freda was born in Margate, P.E.I. to the late Heath and Marion (nee Caseley) Mayhew.
Beloved wife of 63 years to Tom MacKenzie and loving mother of Kevan (Lian), Sue Adams, Dwain (Patti), Natalie (Ken) MacLean and Lori (Don) Harrington and the late Dylan (Gail). Also lovingly remembered by her 19 grandchildren Steve, Tenessa, Tiffany, Calvin, Chloe, Matthew, Tyler, Jordan, Caitie, Regan, Heath, Kenneth, Morgan, Liam, Megan, Shelby, Mac, Carter and Olivia and 4 great grandchildren.
Survived by her sister Diane Silliker, brother-in-law Ivan MacKenzie, sister-in-law Jean Mayhew and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and son, Freda was predeceased by her brother Clair Mayhew and brother in-law Keith Silliker.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Thursday, June 21st, then to Summerside Presbyterian Church for a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Interment to take place in the Belfast Presbyterian Cemetery, Belfast. Memorial donations in Freda's memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Visitation hours on Wednesday evening from 6 - 8 p.m.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
