Obituary of DesRoche, Everett Francis
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I., on Tuesday, August 28th, 2018 of Everett Francis DesRoche, of Summerside, P.E.I. and formerly of Hamilton, ON., aged 73 years. Everett was born in Augustine Cove, P.E.I. to his late parents Frank and Phyllis (nee Wadman) DesRoche.
Beloved husband of 54 years to Janet (nee Gaudet) DesRoche and loving father of Dale (Brenda) of Hamilton, ON., Ron (Joanne) of Hamilton, ON., Wayne (Fernie) of Brantford, ON., Gary (Angela) of Summerside, and Blair of Stoney Creek, ON. Also lovingly remembered by his 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Survived by the following brothers and sisters: Barry (Betty), Marlene (Larry), Judy (Bill), Harriet, Mona, Nancy Lee, Derwin, Gary, and Kelly.
Besides his parents, Everett was predeceased by his brother Dale and his sister Betty Lou. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Saturday, September 1st, then to St. Peter's Church, Seven Mile Bay for a funeral mass at 1:00 p.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Everett's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Friday evening only, 5 - 7 p.m.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
