Obituary of Doucette, Joseph "Hector"
The death occurred peacefully with family by his side at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Tuesday, November 6th, 2018 of Joseph "Hector" Doucette of Miscouche, P.E.I., aged 69 years. Hector was born in Miscouche, P.E.I. to the late Cyrus and Margaret (nee Perry) Doucette.
Loving father of Carol Walfield and lovingly remembered by his 4 grandchildren Ryan, Tanner, Cameron and Paige, great-grandson Jasper and several nieces and nephews.
Survived by his brothers and sister Geralda (Francis), John (Bonita), Wilfred, sisters-in-law Donna, Shirley and Bertha, brother-in-law David Simmonds.
Besides his parents, Hector was predeceased by his brothers and sisters Gus, Harry (Evelyn), Emile, Willie, Rita Broderick, Leona Doucette, Josephine Simmonds, Francis, Hector and sister-in-law Josie Doucette.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside. By personal request, there will be no visiting hours or funeral service held. Interment to take place in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Miscouche at a later date. Memorial donations in Hector's memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or East Prince Palliative Home Care would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
