Obituary of Hansen, Paul Anker
The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Saturday, November 10th, 2018, aged 92 years. Paul was born in Bornholm, Denmark and came to PEI in 1949. He fell in love with the island and Betty (nee Sharp) before moving to B.C. with their son, Michael in 1959. Paul and Betty returned to PEI in 1976, and never left.
Paul was a man of the sea and the outdoors, and he loved to laugh and connect with others. He was a butcher by trade, but a skilled craftsman also.
He is survived by his abovementioned wife and son, daughter-in-law Simone and grandchildren Nikolai and Zoe. Paul was the last living member of his family of 16.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside. There will be no funeral service for Paul, as per his wishes, but A Celebration of his Life will be held in the new year. Memorial donations in Paul's memory to the Prince County Hospital, Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
