Obituary of Arsenault, Agnes Elizabeth
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at her late residence on Monday, December 17th, 2018 of Agnes Elizabeth Arsenault (nee Gauthier) of South Melville, P.E.I. and formerly of Oakville, ON., aged 88 years.
Agnes was the daughter of the late John and Dorothy (nee Murray) Gauthier. Beloved wife of the late Harold Arsenault and loving mother of Diane MacKenzie (Arthur) of South Melville, P.E.I., Marie (Paul) MacDougall, Carol Arsenault (Alex-deceased), Linda (Nick) Haddad, Joan (Brian) Humes, Lorna Pillsworth, Randy Arsenault all living in Ontario, Elaine (Roy) MacKenzie, Sonny Arsenault, and Roger Arsenault all living in Alberta. Also lovingly remembered by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and her special friends Sheila Burgess of Oakville, ON. and Vera Saunders of South Melville, P.E.I.
Besides her parents and her husband, Agnes was predeceased by her son Frank Arsenault and her brother Alex Gauthier.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside and then transferred to the Kopriva Taylor Funeral Home in Oakville, Ontario. A funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home Chapel in Oakville on Thursday, January 3rd, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.. Interment to take place in the Trafalgar Lawn Cemetery, Oakville. Memorial donations in Agnes's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Wednesday, January 2nd from 5 - 8 p.m.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
