Obituary of Gallant, Mary Uneeda
The death occurred peacefully at the Summerset Manor, Summerside, P.E.I on Thursday, December 27th, 2018 of Mary "Uneeda" (nee Arsenault) Gallant of Summerside, aged 87 years. Uneeda was born in Summerside to the late Edgar and Elizabeth (nee Hashie) Arsenault.
Beloved wife of the late Alban Gallant and loving mother of Betty Doucette, Charlottetown, Ron Gallant, Toronto, David (Debbie), Stephen all of Summerside, grandchildren Denise Fleming (Bill), Chris, Andrew and Amanda Doucette, Samantha Thistle (Trevor), Sylvain, Gisele, Juliette, Benoit and Angelique Gallant, 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great- grandchildren.
Survived by her sister and brothers: Mona (John) Gallant of Summerside, PE, Joe (Lynne) of B.C. and Edward of Summerside and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her sister Flo Arsenault, brothers Melvin, Eric and Ivan Arsenault and son-in-law Alan Doucette.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Monday, December 31st, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations in Uneeda's memory to the Alzheimer's Society would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Sunday from 2 - 4 p.m.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
