Obituary of Gaudet, Clarence Joseph
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by his loving family at the Wedgewood Manor, Summerside, P.E.I. on Sunday, January 13th, 2019 of Clarence Joseph Gaudet of Summerside and formerly of Miscouche, P.E.I, aged 83 years. Clarence was born in Miscouche to his late parents Anthony and Eliza (nee Gallant) Gaudet.
Survived by the following brothers and sisters: Rose (Gary) Acheson of New Glasgow, N.S., Joseph of Miscouche, Del Vatamaniuck of Summerside, Martin of Miscouche, Loretta Gaudet of Miscouche, Clifford of Summerside, Edie (Wayne) MacDonald of Summerside and Linda Sterling of Miscouche. Also lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law Marjorie Gaudet, brothers-in-law Jim Wyatt and Ken Sterling and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Clarence was predeceased by his sisters and brothers Nell (Carl) Fitzpatrick, Ida (Lou) Croken, Edna (Fred) Haining, Leo Gaudet and Loraine Wyatt.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Thursday, January 17th, 2019 then to St. John the Baptist Church, Miscouche for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Clarence's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Wednesday evening, 5 - 7 p.m.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
