Obituary of Gillis #NAME? Mary
The death occurred peacefully at the South Shore Villa, Crapaud, P.E.I. on Wednesday, February 20th, 2019 of Lorena Mary Gillis - Cardwell (nee MacLellan), formerly of Travellers Rest, P.E.I., aged 92 years. Lorena was born in Spring Valley, P.E.I. to the late Charles and Mary (nee Hynes) MacLellan.
Beloved wife of the late Patrick Cardwell and also her first husband, the late Camillus Gillis and loving mother of Mary Farris (Gary Dunphy), Summerside, Marlene (Warren) Ellis, Summerside, Joe (Barb) Gillis, Winsloe, Kathy (Don) Aitken, Winsloe, and Rob (Barb) Gillis, Indian River. Loving step-mother of Sharon (Tom) Simon, Manchester, N.H, Shane (Tania) Cardwell, Toronto, ON., and Sandra Cardwell, Summerside. Loving remembered by her grandchildren Becky, Jamie and Andrew Aitken, Jarrett Farris, Michael Gillis, Josh and Brody Ellis, Sarah, Breann, Cameron and Brandon Gillis, Callie and Connor Simon and Chance Cardwell and great-grandchildren Kayleigh Farris, Olivia, Grayson and Avery Aitken, William and Addilyn Aitken, Henry and Fred Ellis, Sam Ellis and Benjamin Gillis, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Survived by her brother Reg (Robbie) MacLellan of Summerside, her sisters-in-law Phyllis MacLellan of Hamilton, ON., Eileen Gillis of Charlottetown, her foster sister Evelyn Arsenault of Carlisle, ON., and foster brother John (Bev) Shaw.
Lorena was predeceased by her stepmother Mary V. MacLellan, brother Lorenzo MacLellan and sister Teresa McQuaid.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Monday, February 25th, then to St Mary's Holy Family Church, Kensington for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in St. Paul's Church Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations in Lorena's memory to St. Paul's Cemetery or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Sunday evening, from 5 - 7 p.m.
St. Paul's CWL will hold a Prayer Service on Sunday, February 24th, at 4:30 p.m.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
