Obituary of Connolly, Raymond "Ray"
The death occurred peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, P.E.I. on Wednesday, March 20th, 2019 of James Raymond "Ray" Connolly of Summerside, aged 84 years. Ray was born in Charlottetown, P.E.I. to the late John and Helen (nee Storey) Connolly.
Beloved husband of the late Leona (nee White) Connolly and loving father of David, Charlottetown, Karen, Summerside and Kevin (Nancy) of Calgary Alberta.
Survived by his sisters Joan Fischer (Larry deceased) and Paula Connolly, sisters-in-law Marjorie White and Ruth White, brother-in-law Len Nixon and several nieces and nephews.
Ray was predeceased by his sisters Beth and Norma and brother Gerry.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Monday, March 25th then to St. Paul's Church for a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations in Ray's memory to the P.E.I. Right for Life Association, PEI Diabetes Association or Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Sunday from 2 - 3:30 p.m.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
