Obituary of Young, George Andrew
The death occurred peacefully at the Summerset Manor, Summerside, P.E.I. on Tuesday, March 26th, 2019 of George Young of Summerside, aged 82 years. George was born in Brae, P.E.I. to the late John and Josephine (nee Maddix) Young.
Beloved husband of Florence (nee Silliker) Young and loving father of Cheryl (Gene) Smallman of Kensington and Randy of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by his 2 grandchildren Jody (Erin) Smallman of Bible Hill, NS. and Jillian (Kyle) Pineau of Freetown, 5 great grandchildren Callum, Cruz and Mischa Pineau, Sutter and Blake Smallman.
Survived by his sisters May (Robert) Russell of Ontario, Pearl McAllar of Tignish, brother-in-law Alton (Eloise) Silliker, sister-in-law Marjorie Silliker and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his brothers Leo (Ann), Harry (Daisy), Clarence (Kay), Gerald, Pope (Dolly), mother and father-in-law Wilfred and Margaret Silliker, brothers-in-law Lester (Olive) Silliker, Bobby Silliker and Gerald McAllar.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside. By personal request, there will be no funeral service or visiting hours held. A Celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations in George's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
