Obituary of Richard, Alphonse Joseph
The death occurred peacefully with family by his side at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Sunday, March 31st, 2019 of Alphonse Joseph Richard of Cape - Egmont, aged 88 years. Alphonse was born in Cape-Egmont, P.E.I. to the late Josephat and Clarice (nee Gaudet) Richard. He was a passionate fisherman for 75 years.
Beloved husband of the late Pearl (nee DesRoches) Richard and loving father of Pierre (Liette), Mike (Diane), Karen (Melvin), Donna (Pierre), Angela (Kenneth), Denise (Darrell) and Marilyn (James). Also lovingly remembered by his 17 grandchildren Holly, Janelle, Mitchell, Sam, Justin, Steven, Robyn, Nathan, Brandon, Aaron, Avery, Brayden, Katera, Kendra, Bradley, Cassidy and Ethan, 7 great grandchildren Brogan, Bria, Dax, Landon, Mikaela, Brody and Lennon.
Survived by his brothers and sisters Rose Marie, Louis, Armand, Raymond (Jackie), Zelma (Zenon), Kenneth and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his brother Adrien and brother-in-law Don.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Friday, April 5th, where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 4:00 p.m. Interment to take place in Notre Dame du Mont Carmel Cemetery, Mont-Carmel at a later date. Memorial donations in Alphonse's memory to Prince County Hospital Palliative Care Unit would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Friday from 12:30 to 3:45 p.m.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
