Obituary of Arsenault, Marina Catherine
The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Monday, September 16th, 2019 of Marina Catherine Arsenault (nee Blacquiere) of Miscouche, P.E.I. and formerly of Truro, N.S., aged 79 years. Marina was born in St. Nicholas, P.E.I. to her late parents Dona and Mable Blacquiere.
Beloved wife of Jean "John" F. Arsenault and loving mother of Mona (Fred) Currie, Gail (Doug) Turner, and Tracy (Jim) Massey. Also lovingly remembered by her 4 grandchildren Brandon (Nicole), Cory, Hunter, and Jessica. Survived by her brother Lewis Blacquiere, her sister-in-law Babs Blacquiere and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Marina was predeceased by the following brothers and sisters: Marie Louise, Marie, Faustine, Cyrus, Harold, Gerry, Shirley, and Geralda.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Friday, September 20th, then to St. John the Baptist Church, Miscouche for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Marina's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Thursday, 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
