Obituary of MacKinnon, Donald "Norman"
The death occurred peacefully at O'Leary Community Hospital, O'Leary, P.E.I. on Wednesday, April 15th, 2020 of D. Norman MacKinnon, Retired Warrant Officer and Relieving Manager of the PEI Liquor Commission, of Summerside, aged 84 years. Norman's favourite pastimes were hunting and fishing. Norman was born in St. John, N.B. to the late Norman MacLeod & Elizabeth (nee McNulty) MacKinnon.
Beloved husband of Reby Elizabeth (nee Barlow) MacKinnon of Summerside, step-father of Karlene Reby Ann Arsenault of Halifax, N.S. Also lovingly remembered by several nieces and nephews.
Survived by his sister Anne (John) Marr of Rothesay, N.B. and his brother Calvin (Nancy) MacKinnon of St. John, N.B. Sister-In-Law Joyce MacKinnon of St. John, N.B. and the extended Barlow family.
Besides his parents, Norman was predeceased by his brother Ian MacKinnon of St. John, N.B.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside. By personal request there will be no visitation held. Interment to take place at a later date. Memorial donations in Norman's memory to the Kidney Foundation or Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
