Obituary of Martin, Catherine "Diane"
The death occurred peacefully at Summerset Manor with her family by her side on May 3rd, 2022 of Catherine "Diane" Martin of Summerside, P.E.I and formerly of St. John's Nfld., aged 74 years. Diane was born in St. John's Nfld. to the late John and Elizabeth (Burke) Martin.
Beloved wife of Robert Moores and loving mother of David (Karla) Kreick, Florida, USA and Michael (Clarissa) Kreick of Zurich, Switzerland, stepmother to Valerie Moores (Daniel Legere) Montreal QC, Christopher Moores (Ursula Codd) BC, and Julie Moores (Eduardo Ramos) Montreal, QC. Also lovingly remembered by five grandchildren: Jensen Desguin, Philip and Ida Kreick, Antonia Hellas, and Nilan Moores, several nieces and nephews.
Survived by the following brothers and sisters: Mary Hickey, Frank (Margaret), Lorraine, Virginia, Paul (Holly) Linda (Randy) Givlin, Gerard (Helena), brother-in-law Wayne (Winnie) Moores.
Predeceased by her sisters Geneviève Murphy and Elizabeth Rogers.
Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside, cremation has taken place, there will be no visitation by personal request. Celebration of her life and interment to take place at a later date in St. John's Nfld. Donations in Diane's memory to Summerset Manor Memorial Fund would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
