Obituary of Barnett, Vera Muriel
The death occurred peacefully at the Summerset Manor, Summerside, P.E.I., on Tuesday, June 9th, 2020 of Vera Muriel (Simmons) Barnett of Summerside, P.E.I., aged 98 years. Vera was born in Summerside to her late parents Frank and Myrtle (Barrett) Simmons.
Beloved wife of the late Arthur Edmond Barnett and loving mother to Leigh (Jocelyne) & Ronald (Roxan) Barnett. Also lovingly remembered by her 4 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Vera was predeceased by her brothers and sisters Pearle, Geraldine, Ralph and Eldred.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside. Interment to take place at a later date in Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia. Memorial donations in Vera's memory to the Baptist Church , Belmont, Lot 16 would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
