Obituary of Banks, Cecil Kenneth Sr.
The death occurred peacefully at his late residence on Friday, July 24th, 2020 of Cecil Kenneth Banks Sr. of Summerside, P.E.I., aged 71 years. Cecil was born in O'leary, P.E.I. to the late Ruskin and Annie (nee Phillips) Banks. Beloved husband of Freda Mary (nee Costain) Banks and loving father of Ken (Ros), Troy (Helena) and Cecil Jr (Tanya). Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Hanesa (Paul), Joanna, Joshua, Riana, Mason, Talynn, Bronson, Austin and Kadence. Survived by his brothers and sisters Janette, Otto, Lloyd, Ronnie, Clara, Shirley, their spouses, the extended Costain family and his many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Cecil was predeceased by his brother Bill. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside. A family gathering to honour Cecil's life will be held at a later date. Interment to take place in St. Brigid's Church Cemetery, Foxley River at a later date. ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
